Nollywood actor Charles Okocha gained sweet revenge over controversial singer Portable after securing a dramatic victory in their much-anticipated “Chaos in the Ring 4” celebrity boxing rematch at the Balmoral Convention Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos. The bout ended abruptly in the opening round after Portable abandoned the contest.
The highly anticipated showdown took a dramatic turn when Portable, after absorbing a series of heavy punches from Okocha, climbed out of the ring and refused to continue the fight. Despite efforts by officials to resume the contest, the singer failed to return, prompting the referee to declare Okocha the winner by disqualification.
The rematch was staged after Okocha invoked the rematch clause following his controversial defeat to Portable in December 2023. Determined to settle old scores, the actor started aggressively and appeared to be firmly in control before his opponent’s unexpected withdrawal.
A jubilant Okocha celebrated the victory with his team, describing it as long-awaited redemption after nearly 18 months. He also used the moment to throw down a challenge to comedian and social media personality Carter Efe, naming him as his preferred opponent for his next celebrity boxing contest.
Although fans had anticipated a thrilling battle between the two entertainers, the fight ended in chaotic fashion, leaving spectators stunned. For Okocha, however, the victory erased the disappointment of his previous loss and completed his quest for redemption in one of Nigeria’s most talked-about celebrity boxing events.
